
The Texas cinemas in Barcelona reopen their doors to become Espai Texas, a multi-venue cultural space hosting both theater and cinema. The challenge was to convey that this is no longer the same Texas, but a new project with a renewed spirit that aims to become a benchmark in cultural programming. Playing with typography and literally separating the brand name reflects the literal creation of a new space in the city. A place that was once iconic as the neighborhood’s popular cinemas is now expanding its horizons and broadening its scope by also offering theater programming. This not only allows for a functional logo across all types of contexts, but also creates its own communication language that at the same time differentiates it from the rest of the cultural offerings in the area.
